So for a lot of us plus size girls, finding the right clothes for the right body with the right fit, is often very difficult.
In this entry, I'm going to show you and let you in on my little secret of how to find clothes that best accentuate your body.
So let's take my body type for example.
I am small in my shoulder area, bust area is normal, tummy is my problem area, legs are normal.
I would never wear an outfit like this for example:
This type of dress would work on a girl that is proportionate in all areas, or even for women who have big badunkadunks!
For my body type, this dress would be more appropriate:
Since I have a very high waist and a big lower tummy, this hides my problem area and accentuates the "best" parts.
Both of these dresses are from ASOS. If you are interested in purchasing some of their items, I suggest going to the US store, unless of course you are in the UK. The sizing for US women is much different than UK sizing. I learned that REAL quick!
For a woman that is top heavy, this dress would be best:
(Forever 21 below)
What you should be looking for is something that is a bit tighter on the bottom and looser on top, or all one fitting. For example, the girl in the red dress from Forever21 has a dress on that is all one fitting. This will draw attention away from the top-heaviness and blend your body together.
For bottom-heavy girls:
The look here is a bit tighter in the bust/shoulder area and looser on the bottom. I always love pairing a dress like the bottom one with some really cute tights.
Equal Proportionate:
The first two dresses are form fitting, so if you don't feel comfortable with that, you can always go for a look like the dress on the right.
For girls like me with middle-heavy bodies:
So those are the basics 101 for choosing a dress!
Hope you enjoyed!
